Cash Due From Borrower on the HUD-1 Settlement Statement

By , About.com Guide

The gross amount due from borrower from line 120 is placed in line 301. The total paid by/for borrower from line 220 is entered into line 302. Line 302 is subtrated from line 301 to arrive at the cash due from the borrower at the closing.

Remember, that the HUD-1 settlement statement can appear to be a bit backward. That's because these amounts shown on the first page are the final settlement amounts, but contain the summary lines of all costs on the second page.

Don't forget that the proper box needs a check mark in 303.
