Title Charges on the HUD-1 Settlement Statement

The 1100 series is the "Title Charges" section of the HUD-1 Settlement Statement. In this section are charges for various items and services related to title and title insurance. These items might include, but aren't limited to:

Settlement or closing fee charged by the settlement entity, usually the title company

Abstract or title search

Title examination

Title insurance binder

Document preparation, perhaps attorney fee for deed

Notary and other attorney fees

Title Insurance premium and endorsements

Courier and express mail fees

These items can show up on either side and be DEBITS or CREDITS to either Buyer or Seller depending on who's agreed to pay for what.
