Title Charges on the HUD-1 Settlement Statement

The 1100 series is the "Title Charges" section of the HUD-1 Settlement Statement. In this section are charges for various items and services related to title and title insurance. These items might include, but aren't limited to:

  • Settlement or closing fee charged by the settlement entity, usually the title company
  • Abstract or title search
  • Title examination
  • Title insurance binder
  • Document preparation, perhaps attorney fee for deed
  • Notary and other attorney fees
  • Title Insurance premium and endorsements
  • Courier and express mail fees
  • These items can show up on either side and be DEBITS or CREDITS to either Buyer or Seller depending on who's agreed to pay for what.
