5 Technologies No Agent Should Live Without

From

With all the technologies available today, it’s evident that business is moving more and more online. Naturally, the commercial real estate industry still requires a fair amount of face time and physical presence, but you can serve your clients much better and faster if you have a few key technologies at your disposal.

1. Smartphone

Smartphones are like personal assistants – only smarter, quicker and more accurate. Whether you prefer the iPhone, Android, Blackberry or others, a smartphone can instantly access your email, take notes, snap a photo to send to a client and guide you to a site address. When you factor in software applications – or apps – the possibilities become endless.

2. Social Media

Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are some of the most powerful, yet free platforms you can use to publicize your business, tout your expertise and pull in potential clients. You should create professional accounts on all three sites, and utilize them weekly, if not daily.

3. Online Videos

Sites like YouTube and Google Videos are extremely popular among consumers of all demographics. You can post footage of yourself giving a virtual property tour, discussing the latest commercial real estate news, or analyzing a particular region or product type.

4. Bluetooth

Even if you have a smartphone, it can’t do everything. A laptop is easier if you need to print, scan, type, play music or surf the Internet. These tasks can be a hassle, however, if you have to mess with connection cables. Bluetooth-enabled devices can perform these tasks wirelessly, making any space safe and show-worthy.

5. GPS

A sophisticated, accurate GPS system or software program is essential for commercial real estate agents. You want the ability to meet a client on a whim, and should they want to see a particular property that’s not on the itinerary, you should be able to instantly drive them there.
