Real Estate Blogging With WordPress on the iPad

By , About.com Guide

WordPress is my website platform for real estate, and I have other WordPress blogs as well, both free at WordPress.com, and paid hosted via WordPress.org. So, one of the first things I did when the iPad arrived was to see about a WordPress iPad app. There is one here, and it's pretty good.

The app is free, and allows you to set up multiple blogs. I find it to be fine for simple blogging, but a bit of a drag when images are necessary. It will add images from the iPad library, and it isn't that difficult, but you can't really work with them, and they go in pretty much the way they are, size, etc. But, it's still a great app for straight text posts, or to get some text in and save as a draft for completion later on your computer.

Using the browser app & full WordPress Admin - I also used the Safari browser app on the iPad to access my WordPress Admin directly, just as I do on my computer. In landscape mode, everything is a tad small, but usable. I found that I can insert images from Flickr with the plugin that I use, and then set up the size and orientation just as I normally do. I found that it's easier to work with text in the HTML entry screen, and you'll find the < and > at the "#+=" key at the right in the numeric keyboard. So, I tend to use the WordPress app when I don't mind saving text in draft and completing later, and going to my admin page with the browser if I want to complete a post with images and publish right away.
