Real Estate Voice to Text Conversion with Dictation on the iPad

By , About.com Guide

Using the Notes application that comes with the iPad is OK, but you must be typing to get that text note into the system. I have four other applications to tell you about here. One will take your voice note up to the cloud for access later, and the other three will covert your voice note to text, and then let you email or copy out the text for use in other documents.

Evernote App - I write about Evernote all the time, simply because it does so many things so well as regards note taking, grabbing notes, text and pages off the Web, and more. It also will allow you to dictate up to a 20 minute voice note on the iPad. It doesn't convert it to text, but it's really handy, as it's immediately available in your Evernote account in the cloud and accessible from any of your computers.

QuickVoice - Record your voice notes with this app, and it will then give you a choice as to whether to email it out as a voice recording, or to convert it to text as well. I found the quality of the conversion to text to be quite good, but you'll wait a while for their server to get the job done.

Jott App - I've written about Jott.com for voice transcription, note taking, emailing and more with your voice on a cell phone. It's transcription quality is just about the best out there. Their app for the iPhone and iPad allows you to record a voice message, and it will convert it to text for you, then you can use it or email it. You need a Jott account, and the length of each recording is limited to one minute, so you may pass this one up unless you're already using Jott.

Dragon Dictation - This is the company that developed the popular and very accurate transcription software Dragon Naturally Speaking. This app lets you dictate with voice, and it will very quickly give you back a text conversion to use in documents or to email. It will also let you update Facebook and Tweet.

You're bound to like one of these four apps, and you'll find that taking notes has never been easier.
