Using the Numbers App for Real Estate & Mortgage Spreadsheets

By , About.com Guide

I don't do a lot of spreadsheet work in my real estate business, but for what I am doing, the Numbers App, part of the iWorks group for the iPad, handles my stuff well. But, there was a welcome bonus, with a couple of templates, both related to loans and mortgages. Entering the loan amount, interest rate and time, a very professional color sheet is produced.

The sheet also compares payments at different interest rates, and produces an amortization schedule for the life of the loan. They're tabbed sheets, like we're used to in MS Excel, and the color shading makes them look really professionally produced. If you just want a simple sheet comparing two or more loans at different interest rates or over different time frames, there's a template for that as well.

There are a number of templates in Numbers, for everything from a running schedule to expense report or an invoice. So, it's well worth the $9.99 cost for this app.
