The Flip is small, light, easy to use, and it takes high quality 640 x 480 video. I'm reviewing it for functionality for a real estate professional, so the geeks can read the tech specs here.
I bought the Flip Ultra in black after I read about it online in other real estate blogs. One use was definitely an innovation...doing seller interviews. The broker was interviewing the sellers of his listings about their homes, what they had improved, etc. The videos were very high quality. There is a small tripod made for it so that you can place it on a table for stability while you talk to your seller.
I did find that you will get some degradation in the video if you move the camera too fast. Very slow panning solved that problem. When the camera is still, it doesn't matter how fast the subjects are moving, the quality is excellent. I even drove down the road holding it in one hand and shooting through the windshield, with excellent results. It is the perfect solution for doing neighborhood videos around your listings.
When you get back to the computer, a USB connection pops out (flips out) of the side, and you plug it right in. With a couple of clicks, you can have the Flip create a video of all the clips and upload it straight to YouTube. You can even add music.
For around $129 to $149 for the top end Ultra model, you can't go wrong with this camcorder. Even the technologically challenged will find it a pleasure to use.
