Real Estate Policy Manual - Office Contact & Substance Abuse

By , About.com Guide

This section of our real estate office policy manual deals with a couple of items. First is the policy on contact with the office, and absences from the office.

We want to establish a policy on how to make sure that the office can contact the associate when they are out. If you use an In/Out roster, give details on where it is and how you expect it to be used by associates. If times are indicated for absence, and the associate experiences a change, you need to outline how they are to keep the office informed.

Also provide explicit instructions on a contact sheet that will be used to reach them when not in the office, either inside or outside of regular hours. Specify which phone or text/pager numbers they'll be providing, and then in what order they will be used to attempt to reach the associate.

Substance abuse and smoking are also handled in this section.
