Real Estate Policy Manual - Agency
A Clear Understanding of How Your Brokerage Represents Clients is Mandatory

By , About.com Guide

Types of real estate agency vary by state, so you'll have to customize this section significantly. It is quite important, however. The ultimate responsibility for errors in representation is on the broker, so be sure to be thorough in this section.

If your state allows choices as to how you wish to represent clients, make sure that your associates are clear as to which your brokerage will adopt. If agency is optional, be clear as to when it is allowed. The example section lets the associate know that "agency" must be run by the broker first, as the example state allows status as a "Transaction Broker."
