Real Estate Policy Manual - Personal Assistants
Be Sure That Your Associates Know What Their Assistants Can Do

By James Kimmons, About.com

Many of the most successful agents use personal assistants to increase their efficiency, allow better client service, and to give them increased time to network and market. This should be encouraged. However, we also need to make sure that they thoroughly understand the duties that are legal for an unlicensed assistant, and those things they cannot do.

In this section, take your state's rules for authorized duties of an unlicensed assistant and set them out here. More important, be sure that the prohibited activities are listed. Referencing the appropriate section of the regulations and stating that it is the associate's responsibility to keep up with changes would be a good idea.
