Are Multiple Real Estate Web Sites an Effective Marketing Tactic?

By , About.com Guide

The "If one is good, more must be better" idea works for some things, but not usually for real estate web sites. It's hard enough for a busy real estate agent to come up with original content to satisfy the information requirements of their prospective site visitors for one site. Trying to do it for several is a huge task and difficult without making the error of duplicate content.

The average agent is much better off concentrating on one very comprehensive site than on trying to develop several. An exception to this rule would be an agent working more than one area with great differences in information between areas. Even then, it's usually a better strategy to place them all on one site with their own sub-sites, possibly using "third level domains". Example: SubdivisionName.SiteName.com. In this way you can maximize your marketing and search engine optimization for one site.
