Which are the best sites for syndication? How do you decide which sites are best for you and your clients? The generally accepted answer is "the more the better." However, there may be a few that you want to slight just because of their philosophy and marketing goals. If a site sells leads back to real estate agents, I generally do not like the idea of supporting it with my listings. I don't really feel this way because I'm looking to double-end my deals. I just have a problem with giving my information out, just to have it sold back to me. You may feel differently, and you may want your listing client to benefit from exposure on all these sites.
There is a lot of visitor traffic involved. What is important is that one source places the number of real estate site visitors in December 2007 at almost 33 million. That's a lot of traffic. The top 20 sites had a couple of national franchises represented, but the majority were sites like Trulia, Zillow, and Yahoo Real Estate. Of course, Realtor.com is at the top, and you get that syndication automatically through your local association MLS. However, their share is shrinking, while sites like Trulia.com are increasing their traffic dramatically.
