Most of the Multiple Listing Service software and online products offer contact and prospect management modules as part of their package. There is nothing wrong with them, and the integration with the MLS is certainly convenient. However, most real estate agents spend a great deal of time and effort customizing and learning to use this system. With it's importance to your marketing efforts, what will you do if the MLS committee votes to change systems?

Yes, you'll be able to export your information and import it into another system, but what about all the time you've invested in the lost one? A finely tuned and properly utilized contact management system will bring you business and commissions, so don't be at the mercy of others in your ability to retain it for as long as you desire..
