Document Your Discussions with Cell Phone to Email
Discard that recorder and send notes from your cell phone to your email.

  • Cell phone to email is free and it's useful! Using the free services at Jott.com, you can hit a speed dial number, answer Jott's question of "Who do you want to jott?" with "ME". Then just dictate the message and you'll have a cell phone to email message when you get back to your computer. If it misses recognizing a couple of words, it's OK, because there's a link to the voice file also.
  • Cover all the transaction bases. This can help in reducing liability later in your transactions too. How many times have you had a conversation and had to wait hours before getting it laid out in writing for your files. Now just send yourself a Jott email from your cell phone with a synopsis of the conversation, delivery or decision. You have to be succinct, as the text message can only be about 160 characters. Something like "Delivered inspection to client secretary, check on his receipt this afternoon." Now you've got an email for the transaction file with time and date of your personal delivery of the inspection report.
  • Use if for clients too. Even better, if it's your client, set them up on Jott at the beginning of the transaction. Then you can tell Jott to send the client a message from your cell phone to their email. Just a quick follow-up to clarify and record what was discussed. Example: "Mary, just confirming our conversation today and that you're declining the counter offer for $276,000. Thanks."
