Integrity and ethics are quite important in this small group of brokers.

In any given market, the number of commercial real estate brokerages is very much smaller than those doing residential and land business. Working in this smaller group will bring about more repeat transaction contact with the other brokers.

Getting a reputation of high integrity and ethical conduct will serve you well in this smaller pool of peers. Exhibiting any practices that aren't highly ethical will most likely cause other commercial brokers to hesitate or refuse to do business with you. It's impossible to serve the client properly if the broker on the other side of the transaction is suspicious of you.

In a market with several thousand residential agents and brokers, there may be only a few dozen successful commercial brokerages. A reputation for integrity and ethical business conduct will be quite important in this exclusive group.
