Networking and Blog Posts Both from Homeowner Associations
Get Help with Your Blogging and Good Will Too!

By James Kimmons, About.com

It's always a commitment to begin blogging for real estate. It's well worth it, but coming up with new post ideas for several posts every week can drive you crazy. Well, you can not only get help, but do some networking and garner good will to boot!

Go to local subdivisions and homeowner associations and offer exposure in your blog to them for their activity and meeting announcements. They should appreciate the exposure and ability to tell their members where to go to find out what's happening. There, you've picked up blog subscribers! The content they might provide could include:

  • Meeting schedules and agendas
  • Party, soccer, sporting and other outdoor event announcements
  • Utility, street and other maintenance announcements
  • There's really no limit to the types of information they might want to post about. You don't care, as it's all good locally-oriented text for the search engines and will generate regular readers for your blog. Don't be shy. Ask them. You'll be glad you did.
