The Screen Where We Tell WordPress to Go For Our Home Page

From James Kimmons, About.com

All we have to do is tell WordPress that we don't want the standard blog display for home. Here's where we point to our custom page.
Pointing the domain to the custom home page.

Remember that we had no title for this page, as we didn't want it to display in our custom content. It's not a problem, just know that you're selecting that blank space as the page for your blog to go to as home.

See that we are telling WordPress to use a "static page" to become our Front Page (home), and we're selecting the blank spot, as it has no title, thus will display a blank here. You'll see that I arbitrarily chose to create this page as a child page to About Me. It doesn't matter where I place it, but this keeps it from showing up anywhere else unless I specifically link to it...which I won't. I just want this to be the front page when anyone comes to http://DemoTownRealEstate.com.

Once we save the information on this screen we can go to our domain, and we should see our custom home page, instead of blog posts in the center area. Get as creative as you like for this page, and hire an HTML person if you want. It shouldn't be too expensive to create some custom content for this space.
