1. You Don't Have to Show Blog Posts for a Home Page
We can set up custom content to show up in the center home page section.

It's likely that you'll not want your home page to look like a blog, with your latest ten posts showing. That's the default...let's change it.

This image shows you the screen where we can create a page with custom HTML content for the center section. Note that I've shown you the HTML of the simple image and video content of the home page displayed in the previous step. I'm not trying to be fancy, though you can get as fancy as you want with HTML on this page.

I just created a quick image of some text, my photo and a search link image linking to the IDX listings search page. Then I borrowed a video from YouTube to embed to show you that you can have all kinds of content on this pseudo home page.

Very important: Notice that there is no "title" in the title box for this page. As WordPress would display the title above the content, I didn't want that. I just left it blank. In our page management, it will show up as "no title."

Current home page live. Next, we'll look at how we get our blog to show this page instead of the default post display. It's an easy step, so check the next image.
