Editing the About Page

Jim Kimmons
First, this photo Is NOT me. It was a fun image I pulled from Flicker with the PhotoDropper Plugin we installed earlier. You can see it on this page below. Now you type in whatever text you want. I'll show you later how to format images and get text to wrap around them. Let's concentrate on Page edit basics right now. Note that we changed the name to "About Me."

Note at the top right of our main page writing box, we have two tabs: Visual and HTML. You will probably use Visual most of the time, just like typing into a word processor. To enter actual Html code, you would choose the HTML tab.

Remember when we installed plugins, one was the All in One SEO pack? Well, here's the first time you'll use it. The box is below our main page entry window, and it wants our META information, page title, description and tags or keywords. It's important for you to keep all of this relevant to what's on the page. You'll do better using page-specific key phrases in this meta area than you will jamming in the same "real estate" stuff on every page.

We type in all our text and save the page.
