Fast & Easy Original Content for Your WordPress Real Estate Blog

Posting 1000 original words about your local area in just a couple of minutes.

One of the reasons cited most often for Realtors not blogging is that they don't have the time nor the ability to pull together original content on a regular basis. It's true that your WordPress real estate blog will not be an effective lead generator unless you can post frequently, with original content about your area and real estate.

But, it's never been easier using willing participants from local business and government. The vast majority of these people are doing a lot of email newsletters, announcements, and event notices. They don't go to the extra trouble to place them on a website, just sending them to an email list. I get at least one a week from my local town public relations person, and another several from the professional PR person the town hired to promote tourism. Neither place the content of these emails on the Web, and both were quite happy for me to do so.

It was always a bit of a pain though, as I had to copy out the email content and paste it into a new post. First open the email, then go to my WP Admin area and start a new post, paste in the content, choose the category and then publish. I could easily do all of that in five minutes or so, but I'm lazy and don't like repetitive tasks.

With the "Postie" plugin for WordPress, I had the answer. I get the email, do a forward, just taking "Fwd" out of the title, and it posts to the category of my choice automatically. That's right, no trip to the Admin page or any posting chores. It just happens.

It's now less than a minute to get these announcements posted, and it's a huge amount of content, all original, and all related to what's going on in my Town and County area. And, yes it does handle images as well. The local arts association sends me very image-rich emails promoting art events. I just forward the email, and they're in the post. Attachments are placed as a link in the email as well. It just doesn't get any easier than this without hired help.
