Well, maybe timing isn't "everything," but it's definitely a major factor in Google SEO these days. I do a lot of analytical study of my real estate website, where my traffic comes from, where it goes on the site, etc. And, since all of my business originates in some way from my site, it's of major importance to me.
Recently I did a test with my most competitive and most productive key phrase to see how timing influences search results. Here's what I found:
- Without any time limitations, I had slipped in free results to the second page, as I concentrate more on top position through PPC.
- When I limited results to within the previous year, my site moved up to #7.
- When I limited results to either one month or one week in the past, my site moved to #1!@
So, as more and more searchers are savvy enough to set time criteria for their searches to get more recent results, my regular multiple posts each week are bringing me visitors. See the detail in this article.
