At least in Australia it seems. In doing some of my daily RSS feed reading, I came across a story from Australia about actions taken against a "property agent" under the Property Agents and Motor Dealers Act 2000. I wanted to be sure, so I found the 500+ page act on the Australia Government site, and there it was. One piece of legislation placing real estate agents and car sales people in the same pot.
A quick scan of the 30 page Table of Contents did show a section on exceptions for "non-profit" operations. I guess I could move to Australia now, as I just put together the rough draft for my taxes, and if I can scrape together a few more deductions, I could qualify for the "non-profit" category.
