Realtor.org reports that jumbo loans are easier to get now than a few months ago. It seems that they aren't subject to the new appraisal rules that are slowing down loans right now.
Even more interesting, it seems that 5/1 hybrid ARMs are very popular right now, with a fixed rate for five years before going to annual adjustments. Who knows, maybe my vacation home market, with average prices requiring jumbo loans, will start to climb out of the dark abyss it's been in for the last year or so.
