The National Association of Realtors mid-year meeting is being held in Washington, D.C. in mid May. I am pleased that they asked me to speak at one of the forums, REALTOR 2.0: Driving Business Using Today's Technology: Business Technology & Information Systems Forum

The forum is on Thursday, May 14th from 3 PM to 5 PM. I'm speaking and taking questions on using an online Intranet and today's new netbooks to go totally mobile with a brokerage office. That's every function available securely online from anywhere with a cellular broadband equipped netbook computer, many under $300. Virtually every office function can be conducted remotely, including:

  • Secure document storage with access to transaction participants online.
  • Contact and prospect management, with private databases for agents, as well as a brokerage database for leads generated by the office.
  • Lead management with accountability reporting.
  • Listing task, activity and reporting management.
  • Showing and feedback management.
  • Transaction and transaction task management.
  • Basic accounting functions and 1099 tracking for agent payments.

There's so much you can do with today's technology to reduce the expense of operating a centralized brokerage office. More on this in this series on Intranets. Here's the whole schedule for the meetings and product displays.
