OFHEO September 2008 Home Price Index Report

How deep can this well get? Click on the image for a larger chart showing the OFHEO national home price index down another 1.3%. Actually, as it has shown for a while, a few states are really dragging down the country as a whole. Here is the entire 85 page report, but I'll list some highlights:

• North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas & Alabama UP for Quarter 3 (less than 5% best)
• All other states DOWN for Quarter 3
• Down from 6% to 10% in quarter are Arizona, Florida, California, and Nevada
• Nevada worst performer for 1 year at -20.92%
• North Dakota best 1 year performance at +4.02%
