Snap A Cell Phone Picture - Visit A Website

Friday November 14, 2008
qrcode Do you think that you're catching up with all of the new ways in which we must market ourselves and our listings?

  • Blogging
  • RSS news feeds
  • SMS text messaging
  • Websites designed for cell phone viewing

Well, take a deep breath, because there's a whole new cell phone marketing tool that should grow a lot if Europe and Japan are indicators. It's called QR Codes, and they love them in other countries. The image in this post is the QR code for this site. You could find this code image here, on my business card, brochures, or in newspaper ads. If you have a cell phone ready to use them, just snap a picture of it, and your phone will immediately be directed to this site. But, how will it work for real estate personal and listing marketing?

  • Custom website for a listing is created with images and listing details
  • The listing site is optimized for viewing on a cell phone
  • A yard sign with the QR code image is placed
  • Drive-by prospects shoot a picture of the sign and they are taken to the listing website
  • Or, they see an ad in the newspaper with the code image and take a shot of it to get to the site
  • Or, your ads and brochures all have your personal website QR Code to generate traffic

If you think it's the future, I give you more detail on how to use it and show you who is already using QR codes for real estate here.
