A trend that's getting hot due to the large number of unoccupied homes involves home staging companies that do not just place furniture and decorate a home that's for sale. They also provide a live-in tenant to keep everything in tip-top shape and showing-ready at all times.

Property owners pay the staging company a monthly fee, and they not only make sure the home is staged properly, they locate a live-in renter to take care of it. The renter is enticed by the very low rent paid for an upscale home, and trades their care of the residence for it.
