Tech Notes - Audio Enable Your Blog or Lazy Podcasting

I just stumbled onto a new plugin for WordPress and other blogging platforms at Odiogo.com. This free service transcribes the text of your posts into an mp3 file and puts a play button in each post for those who would rather listen than read. I suppose it could be good for those who have trouble reading due to font sizes, etc. as well. Here's a link to their demo.

It also produces a feed for iTunes and podcasting for you. I placed it on my personal website, which is a WordPress blog, and I'm going to leave it a while. I spent only about 15 minutes in getting it implemented. It does a pretty good job, except for problems with some punctuation. It also tries to read text renditions of charts or tables, and it doesn't do a good job of that at all. It's fun if nothing else, and it may help some of my site visitors. For those who would rather listen to my posts on their iPod, it may be just the thing. At least there is no Texas accent.
