In January, I posted about the California couple suing their real estate agent because they believed he had duped them into buying an over-valued home. The jury is in, and the agent won't be paying them damages.
It only took the jury two hours to reach a decision, summed up by the forewoman this way: “We felt that in any kind of purchase, especially one that big – and most of us have had our own situations we'd been through – the bottom lline really stops with you.”
It's nice to win, but I'm sure the two years of litigation took their toll on this agent's business and life.

Mr. Little, I’m happy to hear that you’ve been vindicated. As a realtor, it shouldn’t be surprising that I was sympathetic to your cause. There’s always going to be people who aren’t 100% satisfied with their new home. Ultimately the buyer is responsible for his investment and his home. Noone forces them to sign the contract or pay a certain price. It’s not uncommon for similar homes on the same block to sell for different prices. A home’s price is not set, not by the seller, oversight agencies, or the government. It’s value is whatever someone is willing to pay for it. I’m sorry that the couple wasn’t pleased with how it turned out but this lawsuit was always ridiculous from the start. Let’s hope everyone can move on with their lives now.
