Tech Notes - Real Estate Drip Email Service

Follow me on:

A visitor to my site last week was asking about drip email for her new web site. First, don't be misled by the term "drip email" as it is used by some service providers. There are excellent mass email services out there offering their version of drip email, however it doesn't do the job most of us want. Be sure that the service or system can take in a new prospect and start them at the first email in a campaign. If they are entered into an existing campaign and start at whatever email is next, then I don't consider it effective as a drip email service.

Be sure that the service:

  • Starts newly entered prospects at the first email in a campaign.
  • Complies with the CANSPAM Act in handling opt-out requests.
  • Allows multiple campaigns and categorization of prospects.
I still believe that drip email can be effective, but it's getting trickier. The average site visitor is fed up with spam, and they don't want a series of canned emails with boilerplate advice not specific to your area. I've done several articles specific to effective drip email strategies, as well as a review of a drip email service that will function in any web site.
