Darkest Before Dawn? - Apartment REITs

The contributers over at SeekingAlpha.com aren't known for positive hype of the real estate market. On the contrary, I'm usually very depressed if I spend much time on the real estate articles there. A pleasant divergence from the gloom and doom talks about apartment REITs, and the possibility that they're bottoming out.

If more passive real estate investment is your goal, perhaps a look at REITs is in order. There is logic in the argument that some of these stocks are down almost 50% this year, but they are still yielding 7% to 12% in dividends. Another point the author makes is the the inability of many to get a loan and buy a home is increasing rental demand. Our investment series speaks to that here.
