Though "good real estate news" was my search phrase, I just couldn't come up with much today. Though there are a couple of positives in these articles.

Pensions & Investments Online forecasts correction in the commercial real estate markets in 2008. But the overall picture looks good for REITs focused on the long term.

Hovnanian and other builders are helping consumers to work on their credit in order to qualify for a home loan. When there aren't enough "A Paper" buyers, helping the others is getting homes sold.

With housing starts in September at a 14 year low, it's difficult to see a silver lining in this cloud. Maybe those wishing to sell an existing home will fare better with less competition.

Gannet newspaper advertising revenues are dropping, with the weak real estate market partly to blame.
