Fed To the Rescue?

Saturday September 1, 2007
Federal Reserve Board chairman Ben Bernanke, as reported in a New York times article this morning, hinted that help might be on the way in a speech in Jackson Hole, WY yesterday.

At one point, Bernanke says “It is not the responsibility of the Federal Reserve — nor would it be appropriate — to protect lenders and investors from the consequences of their financial decisions. But developments in financial markets can have broad economic effects felt by many outside the markets, and the Federal Reserve must take those effects into account when determining policy.”

Though I'm not sure if we're considered inside or "outside the markets," most real estate agents and brokers are definitely feeling the "economic effects." Any effective help will be appreciated.
