Google Alerts for Blog Post Help

Friday July 6, 2007
As if we don't have enough to do each week in our real estate businesses, if we're blogging, we also should be posting one to four times a week. And if we're doing it right, these posts should actually be of interest to those who do us the great favor of visiting and reading our blog.

Since I have four blogs for different purposes, it can be very difficult to keep them all current and reap the search engine rewards of doing so. Without a doubt, the best tool I've found for that is Google Alerts. Yahoo offers the same service, but I find that my alerts are more targeted with Google, even using the same search phrases.

It's simple to do, you can set the frequency of the alerts and receive them in your email. For subject matter for local blog posts, you might set up alerts like these:

  • "yourtown events"
  • "yourtown press release"
  • "yourtown, ST"
  • You get the point. You'll get notified of everything Google finds anywhere on the web and in blogs that matches your search phrases. Give it a try, it's free. Get help from homeowner associations too. Your prospects and clients help you every day for free.

    hi James,

I didn’t know that Yahoo has similar service.

google alerts are really great. Yesterday I placed a short video clip at my blog showing how it works http://www.web2whizzing.com/you-don%e2%80%99t-have-to-be-a-professional-to-monitor-your-market/
