Nontraditional Business Models - Fee-For-Service Brokers

The explanation of "fee-for-service" is pretty straight forward here, with this quote summarizing it well: "Fee-for-service brokers offer home sellers the option to purchase less than the full bundle of services traditional brokers provide. Different fee-for-service brokers may offer different arrays of services, and home sellers can pick and choose the services they wish to procure from the provider or providers of their choice."

The "MLS Only" type of service is discussed, as well as the fact that additional services are usually also offered by the MLS Only broker. One broker states that 30% of his customers on a flat-fee listing package end up purchasing additional services. Overall, this section is explanatory, but brings up no anti-competitive practices.
